- Casillero Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon (Chile)
- A smooth Cabernet Sauvignon full of cassis and black cherry flavours, complemented by hints of mocha and dark chocolate The wine is endowed with a remarkable bouquet, complex overtones and a lingering finish. The legend of Casillero del Diablo began more than 100 years ago when Don Melchor de Concha y Toro decided, in order to keep thieves away from his wines, to spread the rumour that the Devil lived in his cellars. Hence the name, Casillero del Diablo. The Maipo valley has gained worldwide recognition for the quality of its Cabernet Sauvignon and is recognized as a terroir that imprints a unique, very recognizable personality on its wines. Low temperatures, little rain and low grape yields meant that fruit matured slowly to its peak providing elegant, round wines with spectacular colour and incredible concentration. 70% of this wine was aged in oak for 8 months giving extra complexity. "One of the best-value cabernets around, Casillero is a winner with all manner of meaty barbecued food." Matthew Jukes, The Daily Mail 30/7/08.
